Tzatziki, also known as cacık or tarator, is a class of dip, soup, or sauce found in the cuisines of Southeastern Europe. Originated in Greece.

Authentic Greek tzatziki is most often made with sheep or goat yogurt. Authentic Tzatziki is a salted yogurt and cucumber dip that’s made of strained yogurt, shredded cucumber, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and herbs. It also has red wine vinegar, dill, mint, parsley, thyme.

Here we add a healthy twist to our Tzatziki and make it more colourful for the Indian summer fun.

For Lactose intolerant friends make this recipe with soy yogurt or coconut milk yogurt, soy sour cream.

Healthy Pink Tzatziki (Greek Dip)

Ingredient:

½ cup Hung Curd

1 beet root

4-5 Garlic cloves [made to paste]

1 tsp Green chili paste

Salt as per taste

2 tbsp Dill leaves

1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil

Dill to garnish

Procedure:

Grate the beetroot

Remove excess water from the grated beetroot

Take hung curd in the bowl

Add the beetroot to bowl of hung curd

Add garlic paste, green chili paste and salt to the bowl

Add dill leaves to the mixture

Mix all together well

Drizzle extra virgin olive oil on top

Garnish with Dill and enjoy.
