Its peak summer season and we all need to eat things that will reduce the body heat. Sunstroke or heat health issues are very common in this season. This ‘Masala Curd Barley’ recipe is just what you need in this season.

Barley and curd both are very soothing and cooling for our body. Rock salt gives required electrolytes that are lost in sweat especially during summers.

Barley has lots of fiber that helps in improving digestion. It has ability to reduce blood levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-Cho), thereby lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease; low-glycemic index that assists with blood glucose and insulin management ; benefits for gut health and ability to reduce visceral fat.

Masala Curd Barley

Ingredients

  • Barley 50gm
  • Curd 150gm
  • Onion 60gm ; cut to small pieces
  • Water 2 cups
  • Green chili cut to small pieces [as per taste]
  • Coriander leaves cut for garnishing [handful]
  • Rock salt as per taste

Procedure

  • Wash the barley well in ample amount of water
  • Add 1 cup water to pan as it comes to boil then add washed barley to it
  • Boil it till water reduces to 1/4th cup or comes to pate consistency
  • Now take it off flame and let it cool down
  • Add curd and water to boiled barley
  • Now add rock salt, cut chilies, cut onions and coriander.
  • Mix well.
  • Tadaahhh… your masala curd Barley s ready to serve.
